The Police & Crime Commissioner for Cheshire Selects Unit4 People Experience Suite Enabling a Police Service Fit for the Future
Unit4, a leader in enterprise cloud applications for people-centric organizations, today announced that The Police & Crime Commissioner for Cheshire, has selected Unit4 ERP, FP&A and HCM solutions to deliver a modern and integrated information infrastructure supporting Cheshire’s police force.
Cheshire Constabulary is a UK territorial police force, responsible for policing an area of 946 square miles with 2,199 Police Officers, 204 PCSO’s, 201 Special Constables and 1,611 staff. They are headquartered in Winsford, Cheshire.
Currently on an Oracle Cloud platform, managed via the Multi-Force Shared Services, Cheshire Constabulary has decided to bring its core back-office solutions in-house. They were looking for a next-generation ERP solution to integrate effectively with their existing IT estate, including business critical Police solutions such as Duty Management and Rostering solutions.
The immediate focus will be on delivering the requirements around Core HR, Payroll, Finance and Procurement for the entire Force. With Unit4’s integrated suite of ERP software solutions, Cheshire Constabulary will benefit from visibility and control over finances, projects, procurement, reporting, forecasting and payroll.
Unit4 has vast experience supporting the emergency services and public sector with its next-generation enterprise software, including police forces, local and regional government, and the ambulance service. The functional fit and speed to deliver with Unit4’s Public Sector implementation model means that Cheshire Constabulary will have solid, high quality, transactional service delivery that can be maintained and kept up to date at all times, allowing changes to be made easily and effectively.
By implementing Unit4 ERP, FP&A and HCM Cheshire Constabulary will benefit from:
- A seamless blend of Unit4’s advanced Payroll Management system, core HR system and Talent Management software, with integration to essential front-line operational systems including its Duty Management and Command and Control systems
- More individualized control, clearer insights for better decision-making and faster time-to-value for the police force
- Reduced low-value admin so that employees can spend more time on customer-facing tasks to deliver greater value to the citizens they serve.
Selecting Unit4 will enable us to re-direct frontline services and give us the data and support services we need to enable our officers and staff to be their most effective.
Julie Gill
Assistant Chief Officer at Cheshire Constabulary
“Our vision is for even safer communities for the whole of Cheshire,” said Julie Gill, Assistant Chief Officer at Cheshire Constabulary. “Selecting Unit4 will enable us to re-direct frontline services and give us the data and support services we need to enable our officers and staff to be their most effective. Achieving this will ensure that it does not distract but supports their primary role of real neighbourhood policing.”
Chris Richards, Regional President, UKI, said: “Freeing up time for operational policing, supporting self-service, including mobile working, meeting all the necessary security requirements, and enabling the capability of reporting data in an easy and usable manner, is key. We are proud to be partnering with Cheshire Constabulary, supporting it to achieve its overarching vision for a Police force fit for the future so their people can continue to make a difference in the community.”
